Peter has worked in senior management roles in the global resources and construction materials sector for over 30 years. He has successfully led, logistics, manufacturing, operational improvement and commercial divisions.
He has seen firsthand that for an organisation to be successful, it needs to create a culture that clearly reflects its beliefs, behaviors, goals and how people engage both internally and externally. In his experience, the businesses with higher workforce engagement are generally safer, more customer focused and profitable. Discretionary effort is a given and people feel valued and connected to the organisation’s performance.
Under Peter’s leadership, his teams were encouraged to attract and develop high performing teams who had a primary focus on creating development pathways that allowed people to reach their full career potential.
Peter has experience in coaching C-suite and senior leaders who want to develop critical thinking and reflective learning. He is passionate about helping leaders develop both themselves and improving team leadership capability, thereby managing talent and ensuring future leadership succession pathways.
Peter commenced working in the resources and construction material industry in the late 1980’s. This industry’s role is fundamental in supporting the building of major infrastructure, roads, homes and hospitals. During this time, he managed state and regional businesses in Vic, WA and QLD.
He has a passion for leading safety and employee wellbeing, including being a strong advocate for mental health. Corporate social responsibility has also been a priority and Peter has worked closely with many indigenous groups on building social and economic sustainability. He has also partnered with not for profit organisations on employment pathways for young people through the Beacon Foundation.
